20 Nov 2007 An Adventure
 |  Category: Family

Well, tomorrow we are off on our Thanksgiving adventure!  I read in the paper this past week that only crazy people fly on the day before Thanksgiving.  Hmm….considering we’ve done it multiple times in the past 7-8 years, I guess I qualify.  Luckily our flight out tomorrow is early and DIRECT, so hopefully we won’t be affected by the impending weather in Chicago.   And hopefully Madeline will have an OK day on the plane!   We didn’t buy her a seat since technically she can still sit on our laps, so I’m hoping that its not a total nightmare and the rumble of the plan magically puts her to sleep.  A girl can hope, right?

This trip will truly be an adventure.  It is our first trip as a family since Madeline has been born,  and the first time all 4 of us will share a hotel room.  We are staying in a suites like hotel, so that will be helpful.  Plus our hotel has an indoor pool, so hopefully we can tire the girls out enough during the day that they sleep well at night.  Here’s hoping, right?

It will truly be a weekend of friends! I think we have something scheduled every day when we’re out there. This is really our first trip back to the DC area since we moved West.   We were in Arlington for a weekend last year, however we spent two of those days up in Philly seeing Sarah & Mike. All of us are excited to see friends and famiy.

Wait….what happened to our Vacation?

Please say a prayer that Madeline will do OK on the plane.  I know Claire will be fine — she’s going to be SO excited about flying!   She doesn’t know about the trip yet since telling her would cause 8,000,000 questions about where we are going, if the airplane is going to take us to see Cookie, and whatnot.  She is going to be ecstatic when we get to the airport.

Safe travels to anyone traveling for the holiday.  I’ll catch ya with the nitty gritty details of our trip next week.
