….are sitting around the fire, drink in hand, with our good friend Keith.

 fire

However, the boys are talking about theological things and I’m selling yarn on Ravelry and buying more on yarn.com (Em, it doesn’t count as breaking my resolution…I sold enough to pay for it :) )

Just over heard…”do you know what ontological change means? hey nice fire! Thank you.

  1. I am not smart enough to be you friend anymore. I know what ontological means (or think I do - something about if there is a concept of God then there IS a God). I know what change is. So if I put that together than are we taling about a change in how we view the CONCEPT or the belief of the existance? Or are we just talking about a fundemental shift in perception of… never mind. My head hurts.

  2. Ontological doesn’t have to be about God, if you’re not of the mind to believe that there is one. But it is about the essence of things, where things come from– very existential (but not in the mushy definition of that term, but issues of existence). If you happen to be a believer in God, that might have something to do with existence, but it doesn’t have to.

Also, I could talk about the ontology of schools, and that really has little to do with God. Ontology also gets as issues of whether or not there is an answer, or multiple answers.

    Okay, stopping now. :)

(I just got off a writing retreat, so the neurons are firing fast.)

  3. Yeah. Um, I can’t contribute to that conversation. (See Friday’s post on my blog.)

I really AM a smart person, but I’m just not “feeling” it right now. :)
