18 Apr 2008 Earthquake…
 |  Category: Jonathan - General, Weather

Though my friends from California described it as minor, they noticed it too. Apparently, an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck (not sure of that term) in the middle of southern Illinois at about 5:40 EST this morning. Here’s a map:

And here’s a link to zip codes who report feeling the quake:

Fun stuff!

  1. So, I wake up wondering why the bed is shaking and I was just about to yell at Jonathan for goofing around and shaking the bed when something in our shower comes crashing down. He says “did you feel that?” and I said “yeah I think we’re having an earthquake”.

    Then it was over. :)

Still something that never happens around these parts.

  2. Oooh! We just had an aftershock!
