I have a problem.  A yarn problem.  A SERIOUS yarn problem.  I didn’t realize how bad it actually was until I was this weekend when we were looking for the freaking B&BW bag (15% off) and my mother in law opened my yarn closet which immediately exploded on her.  (I found the bag by the way honey…it was in the yarn closet…behind a bunch of yarn).

Anyway, during Madeline’s naptime this morning, Claire and I took everything out of the closet and sorted it.  One giant tub and 4 giant plastic bags later, the bulk of it is stored in the basement.  The only thing left upstairs is the stuff earmarked for my upcoming projects.  I figure I have enough yarn to last me for the next 4 years.  Seriously.

I know I resolved not to buy any more yarn before, but really this time, I’m going to do it.  I’m going to make a few stash buster baby blankets for a certain person who’s having twins…and cough cough it would be really nice to to know if at least one was a girl cough cough.  I’m going to see how much I can use up before the end of the year.

  1. Hmmm…now I know that when you swear that you didn’t move something, and make hints that my mother may have thrown it out in her constant madcap cleaning, it’s really in your yarn cabinet.

We still have two children, right? None others in the yarn cabinet? Hmong refugees?

  2. Hee hee, well…..

  3. You are a nut! Both of you!

  4. Too funny! Find anything else of interest?? Spots/Tom Tom?? haha Have some fun with some projects and put together textures and colors that you might not usually - you would be surprised how well they come out!

  5. Seriously, not telling. :) And it isn’t just friends, even a lengthy discussion about names (we don’t actually know genders yet) my mother-in-law insisted on having yesterday didn’t budge us.

But thanks for the thought and I’ll happily ooo and ahh over blankets whatever color they are.

That’s a lot of yarn… I should tell the husband, then he won’t think I’m so crazy.
