7 things I’ve learned this past week….
|
Category: Anne - General
- The couch eats hairbrushes.
- Buying barrettes at the Dollar Store is not cost effective. Even if they are 60 for $1, guaranteed you’ll only find 1 usable one in the entire package.
- I will finally admit that I completely suck at making grilled cheese.
- The South Beach Diet does work — 10 pounds in 2 weeks.
- To avoid World War III, take two band-aids out of the box when one child has a boo boo.
- My job is to clean the kitchen and the girls job is to watch TV…at least according to Claire.
- I am allergic to sulfites, or something. Every time I have more than 2 glasses of wine in one setting I have the worst Migrane like Wangover the next day.

I am currently in search of hair ties for Aubrey and Molly. I was drafting a post on this subject actually.
Awesome on the weight loss - and Claire is right on the money

Not sure why grilled cheese doesn’t work for you but here my trick:
Use a lid on the skillet when the first side of the sandwich is getting toasted. This helps the cheese melt faster. Then take it off after flipping so that the crispy side doesn’t get soggy.
I also highly recommend sprinkling some spices in with the cheese - Sandwich Sprinkle from Penzey’s is my favorite.
Hope that helps.

Em — The ouchless elastics made by Goody (I think) are the best we’ve found (you can get them at Target) for the fine hair our girls have. But miss Claire is into barrettes lately…
Ann — That’s exactly the issue…it gets soggy! I’ll try that!

Pleeeenty of olive oil. Lower heat. Heat the slices without cheese first, then flip, put cheese on the hot side and cover with the other hot side, then coat both presently-toasting sides with olive oil and crisp!

My couch eats bracelets.
Wangover… haven’t heard that in a while! Nice.
